Job Description
M&J is seeking a Project Manager to oversee the construction of a new federal agency building in Maryland.
Responsibilities
- Participate in meetings such as preconstruction, quality control, progress, and other relevant conferences with government representatives and contractors.
- Review construction drawings and specifications, recommend solutions for construction issues, and submit these to the Contracting Officer Representative (COR) for review.
- Review contract submittals to ensure compliance with specifications, document comments, and recommend actions. Monitor submittal timelines and advise the government of any delays.
- Prepare weekly status reports with detailed backup and present them at review meetings.
Required Skills & Experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
- Professional Engineer (PE), Project Management Professional (PMP), or Certified Construction Manager (CCM) certification is highly preferred.
- 10-15+ years of experience managing large, multimillion-dollar construction projects, including mixed-use facilities.
- Experience as an Owner’s Representative, preferably with federal clients.
- Strong knowledge of A/E and vertical construction industries, including systems installation, commissioning, QA/QC inspections, and relevant building codes.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Ability to maintain detailed records, lead technical meetings, and deliver presentations to VIPs.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and basic field tools and instrumentation.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment managing multiple projects across various sites.
