Responsibilities
We are seeking an assistant project manager with transportation industry experience to support WMATA within the Washington, DC Metro area. This role is ideal for candidates with previous or current WMATA experience or similar experience with a major transportation authority.
The responsibilities include:
- Serving as WMATA\’s representative for assigned task orders across all project phases.
- Ensuring all tasks are completed on time and within budget.
- Engaging in planning, staffing, scheduling, budget management, quality control, safety, and coordination of subcontractors and internal staff.
- Managing stakeholder relationships.
- Developing project scopes, preparing reports, maintaining schedules and budgets, and ensuring quality reviews.
- Identifying scheduling and cost variances and recommending corrective actions.
- Resolving issues with contractors promptly to keep projects on schedule and within budget.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have:
- A bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field.
- At least five (5) years of experience in transit and transportation projects.
- At least three (3) years of experience working on a multiple task order contract.
- Successful completion of OSHA 10-Hour Construction Course.
- Knowledge of project management principles, practices, and techniques.
- Knowledge of project controls, including critical path method scheduling and budget control systems.
- Ability to independently organize and execute assignments with minimal supervision and lead professional personnel.
- Effective communication skills.
WMATA experience is preferred.
Salary Range: $100,000 – $115,000 annually.
