The Role

We are seeking an experienced Site Engineer to join our team on a few infrastructure projects in Wiltshire/Bristol area. This opportunity is for an immediate start, so we welcome freelance or permanent applicants. This role will support the safe and efficient delivery of the project, responsible for technical aspects on-site and ensuring works are conducted in line with design, quality, and programme requirements.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Carrying out all setting out and site measurement activities
  • Setting out for drainage, earthworks, services, kerbs, edgings, and surfacing
  • Using GPS and total station equipment to ensure accuracy and compliance
  • Receiving and managing all setting out data provided by the Section Engineer
  • Capturing survey data on site and supplying it to the Section Engineer for processing
  • Reading and working from technical drawings and specifications
  • Ensuring quality, safety, and programme requirements are met

Who you are

You are a reliable and knowledgeable engineer with a background in highways, infrastructure, and civil engineering. You work well under pressure, are confident managing setting out independently and have a strong understanding of UK highway construction techniques.

Key Skills:

  • HNC/HND or degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent
  • CSCS card; SMSTS or SSSTS (desirable)
  • At least 5 years of experience on UK highways schemes
  • Strong surveying experience and background in earthworks
  • Competent with AutoCAD, GPS, and total station equipment
  • Sound understanding of CDM and construction processes
  • Full UK driving license
