The Role

We are seeking an experienced Site Agent to join our project team at Devonport, Plymouth, a technically complex, high-value scheme in a secure and regulated environment. Reporting to the Project Manager, you will take responsibility for delivering key elements of the project, with a focus on managing temporary works and supporting structural construction activities. The role will involve both strategic coordination and hands-on site leadership.

As Site Agent, you will:

  • Manage established temporary works packages, including sheet piled and secant piled cofferdams.
  • Lead on development of new TW solutions (e.g. formwork), working with TW designers and our structural engineer.
  • Liaise closely with the Main Contractor’s TW Engineers and design reviewers to ensure compliance.
  • Oversee proprietary TW systems for drainage, excavation, and obstruction removal.
  • Support contract administration, including EWN, NCE and programme updates under NEC4.
  • Assist the planner in producing Clause 62 notifications and updating Clause 32 submissions.
  • Plan resources, coordinate plant and materials, and monitor progress against programme.
  • Produce lookahead programmes, review RAMS, and attend client, progress and cost review meetings.

Who you are

You bring strong civil engineering experience from Tier 1 or major infrastructure projects. You understand temporary works coordination and contract processes, and work collaboratively to deliver safely and efficiently. You are confident coordinating temporary works activities and enjoy leading teams in a dynamic environment.

Key skills:

  • HNC/HND or Degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent).
  • CITB Temporary Works Coordinator qualification (essential).
  • SMSTS, CSCS (Gold or Black), First Aid.
  • Experience managing multi-disciplinary civil engineering works.
  • Strong knowledge of NEC4, with experience issuing EWNs, NCEs, and contract notifications.
  • Commercially aware, with experience supporting quotations and records.
