Profile Summary

This is a senior structuring role within Mizuho EMEA's CIB Structured Financing Group (CSF), focused on the securitisation product suite. CSF is responsible for the origination, structuring and execution of complex structured finance transactions, working in close partnership with Relationship Management (RM) teams and key stakeholders.

The role holder will contribute to the development and delivery of business strategy, lead on origination and execution of high value transactions, and drive sustainable revenue growth while maintaining strong risk discipline and regulatory compliance. The position requires the ability to operate with a high degree of autonomy, influence senior stakeholders, and contribute to the development of the broader franchise.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Partner with the Team Head to shape and deliver the strategic direction for securitisation
  • Lead the implementation of strategy across areas of responsibility, ensuring alignment with divisional and firm-wide objectives
  • Identify and originate new business opportunities, leveraging deep market, sector and client insight
  • Build and maintain senior-level relationships internally and externally, including clients, regulators and key stakeholders
  • Contribute to innovation in product structuring and client solutions to enhance market competitiveness
  • Lead the end-to-end origination, structuring and execution of securitised products transactions
  • Apply advanced technical expertise to assess complex credit, structural and market considerations
  • Ensure transactions are appropriately structured, risk-managed and aligned with client and Bank objectives
  • Oversee marketing and syndication of transactions, where applicable
  • Take ownership of credit submissions, ensuring risks are clearly identified, assessed and mitigated
  • Maintain strong oversight of exposure, execution, reputational, regulatory and operational risks
  • Ensure all activities are conducted in line with internal policies, regulatory requirements and risk appetite
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of processes and controls in line with best practice and operational excellence expectations
  • Develop and sustain a broad network of senior stakeholders across Coverage, Credit, Legal, and external counterparties
  • Represent the business in client discussions and negotiations, ensuring high-quality delivery and relationship management
  • Support cross-functional and cross-border collaboration to deliver integrated client solutions
  • Provide leadership, guidance and oversight to junior team members
  • Foster an inclusive, collaborative and high-performing team environment
  • Support the development of team capability through coaching, mentoring and knowledge sharing
  • Contribute to broader talent development and succession planning initiatives
  • Deliver on revenue targets and contribute to divisional financial performance
  • Ensure transactions meet required RORA and RWA thresholds
  • Maintain discipline in pipeline management and execution to support sustainable revenue generation

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience

Essential:

  • Significant experience in structured finance, with a strong focus on securitisation and non-vanilla financing structures
  • Proven track record of originating, structuring and executing complex transactions
  • Experience developing and mentoring team members
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at senior levels
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills, including financial modelling
  • Strong commercial awareness and ability to identify market opportunities
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts clearly and effectively
  • High level of personal accountability, sound judgement and risk awareness
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional qualification

Desirable:

  • Additional European or Asian language skills
  • Postgraduate qualification (e.g. MBA or equivalent)
