Profile Summary

Responsible for coverage and development of:

  • bank loan investors;
  • Credit Insurers; and
  • certain institutional loan investors, for the purpose of primary and capital raising for Mizuho clients and/or risk management of Mizuho balance sheet.

Role to focus on distribution of Real Assets loans including Real Estate, Project Finance and Infrastructure Finance. The Sales role is a key element in Mizuho's O2D strategy and the individual must work collegiately with internal colleagues and investors to build the franchise.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Existing Investor relationships and coverage - maintain frequent contact with existing investor database keeping abreast of current investment intentions.
  • Develop new relationships - proactively develop new relationships to deepen Mizuho's coverage.
  • Undertake market soundings where appropriate to assist LCM and business units in assessing demand for potential and in-market deals.
  • Primary sales - act as lead sales person on primary deals in conjunction with LCM colleagues managing all aspects of the distribution of successful sell down of deals in a professional and timely manner to include investor coverage, overseeing management presentations and allocations.
  • Secondary buy/sell sourcing - source buy/sell secondary trades for the purposes of balance sheet management.
  • CRI - lead Mizuho's CRI strategy and execution including working with internal stakeholders to agree optimal hedging strategy.
  • Liquidity analyses - produce liquidity forecasts for specific deals and general market overviews.
  • Market updates - input to market updates for use both internally and externally.
  • Support LCM team in structuring and pricing pitches for Corporate, FI and crossover deals.
  • Act as lead sales person on certain strategic internal initiatives including but not limited to: taking lead role in Sales team for Commercial Real Estate Syndications.
  • Identify and develop investor knowledge for new (sub)-sector and regional opportunities for the bank to originate and successfully distribute.
  • Reach out to colleagues in NY, Asia and Japan to improve and maintain a global approach to sales and investor coverage.

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience

  • Knowledge of core loan markets and products including:
    • Project and Infrastructure Finance
    • Commercial Real Estate
    • W.E Corporates
    • EM Corporates
    • EM FI's
    • Leveraged finance market
  • This knowledge to be sufficient to engage with investors on specific deals and structural elements and also market primary deals and balance sheet management opportunities.
  • Experience of European loan markets.
  • Working knowledge of wider markets.
  • Self-motivated and proactive.
  • Educated to degree level.
  • Ability to effectively manage and lead a team.
  • Languages preferable.
  • Supervisory / Managerial Skills to consider.
  • Maintain transparent communication to provide clear direction to the team.
  • Strong decision-making skills to efficiently delegate tasks.
  • Foster the spirit of teamwork and cohesiveness across the team.
  • Motivate the team to complete tasks to a high standard.
  • Empower individuals to take responsibility for their goals.
  • Coach, mentor and develop the team in a positive and constructive manner.
