We are looking for a VP to join our EMEA Sustainability Strategy team in London.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Contribute to the development and execution of the Sustainability Strategy for the EMEA region, aligned with Mizuho Financial Group's Sustainability Strategy and Net Zero targets.
- Lead data-related projects, including developing monitoring tools and other internal initiatives to ensure strategy delivery.
- Collaborate with Mizuho EMEA's risk and regulatory teams to ensure compliance with sustainability and climate regulatory requirements, including horizon scanning, compliance readiness reviews, and risk assessments.
- Support the Head of Sustainability Strategy in participating in relevant committees, forums, and working groups, including preparing supporting materials and maintaining action logs.
- Stay informed about market developments in ESG data, ratings, and methodologies, and share insights with the team.
- Maintain, update, and develop ESG dashboards and MI across risk, business, and operational areas, supporting the development of related metrics and targets.
- Promote knowledge sharing of sustainability trends across Mizuho EMEA teams.
- Contribute to thematic research and analysis on sustainability trends.
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience
- Undergraduate degree or equivalent.
- Collaborative team player with strong organizational skills.
- Sound knowledge of the banking industry.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills.
- Advanced Excel skills; knowledge of SQL and other data tools is a plus.
- Minimum of 4 years' relevant experience in data analysis and project management.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills.
- Understanding of risk management, including stress testing.
- Effective communication skills.
- Experience in managing and developing junior team members.
