VP - Sustainability Strategy

We are looking for a VP to join our EMEA Sustainability Strategy team in London.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Contribute to the development and execution of the Sustainability Strategy for the EMEA region, aligned with Mizuho Financial Group Sustainability Strategy and Net Zero targets.
2. Lead data-related projects, including developing monitoring tools and other internal initiatives to ensure strategy delivery.
3. Collaborate with Mizuho EMEA\’s risk and regulatory teams to ensure compliance with sustainability and climate regulatory requirements, including horizon scanning, compliance readiness reviews, and risk assessments.
4. Support the Head of Sustainability Strategy in participating in relevant committees, forums, and working groups, including preparing materials and action logs.
5. Stay informed about market developments in ESG data, ratings, and methodologies, and share insights with the team.
6. Maintain, update, and develop ESG dashboards and MI across risk, business, and operational areas, supporting the development of related metrics and targets.
7. Foster knowledge sharing of sustainability trends across Mizuho EMEA teams.
8. Contribute to thematic research and analysis on sustainability trends.

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience

1. Undergraduate degree or equivalent.
2. Collaborative team player.
3. Sound knowledge of the banking industry.
4. Strong numerical and analytical skills.
5. Advanced Excel skills.
6. Knowledge of SQL and other data tools (asset).
7. At least 4 years of relevant experience in data analysis and project management.
8. Excellent organizational and time management skills.
9. Experience in stakeholder management.
10. Understanding of risk management, including stress testing.
11. Good communication skills.
12. Experience managing and developing junior team members.
