Supports the origination, execution and portfolio management of Real Estate Finance transactions across EMEA. The role is responsible for leading the execution of financing opportunities, managing internal and external stakeholders throughout the transaction lifecycle, and supporting the development of client relationships and business opportunities. Working closely with senior members of the team, the Vice President contributes to the successful delivery of the Real Estate Finance strategy and broader business objectives.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support the origination and execution of REF transactions across EMEA
  • Lead the execution of financing opportunities in accordance with Mizuho policies and procedures
  • Take ownership of preparation of credit applications, transaction approval materials, KYC processes and internal committee submissions
  • Coordinate transaction due diligence processes, including engagement with legal advisers, valuation providers, technical consultants and other external stakeholders
  • Review financing documentation and support transaction structuring, negotiation and execution activities
  • Manage internal deal processes and coordinate with relevant stakeholders to ensure timely progression of transactions
  • Support ongoing management and monitoring of the REF portfolio in line with internal risk management policies
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients, sponsors, financial institutions and other market participants
  • Work closely with syndications and other product teams to support successful execution of the REF strategy
  • Maintain oversight of the transaction pipeline and provide timely updates to senior management
  • Monitor market trends, regulatory developments and industry activity to support business development initiatives and client engagement
  • Support senior members of the team in strategic projects and broader business development activities

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience

  • 5+ years' experience in commercial real estate finance
  • Strong transaction execution experience across REF transactions, including credit analysis, due diligence, documentation review and internal approval processes
  • Strong financial modelling, cashflow analysis and quantitative skills
  • Understanding of international real estate debt markets, syndicated loan markets and commercial real estate financing structures
  • Experience managing multiple transactions and workstreams simultaneously
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
  • Ability to manage internal and external stakeholders effectively and build strong working relationships
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including preparation of high-quality credit papers, committee materials and client presentation materials
  • Commercial mindset with ability to identify opportunities and support business growth
  • High level of computer literacy and ability to analyse and present data effectively
  • Collaborative approach and ability to contribute positively to team development and performance
