The successful candidate will join the Client and Capital Strategy team within the Portfolio Strategy (PS) function, with responsibilities for portfolio optimisation and deal‑level RORA advisory to facilitate strategic decision making and optimise risk, return and distribution outcomes across EMEA.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Support portfolio optimisation by translating analytical insights into actionable strategies across distribution, risk transfer and capital efficiency initiatives.
- Work closely with Front Office and Loan Markets desks to drive originate to distribute strategies.
- Contribute to the oversight of EMEA Banking’s distribution list, supporting prioritisation, tracking and execution of identified recycling opportunities.
- Engage with Coverage, Product and Distribution teams to ensure progression.
- Play a key role in supporting strategies to enhance portfolio returns, optimise capital usage and maintain disciplined balance sheet management.
- Deliver clear, high‑quality analysis to inform portfolio decisions, including exposure trends, limit utilisation and capital‑intensive positions.
- Prepare concise, decision‑ready materials for senior stakeholders.
- Support the development of portfolio strategy tools and analytics, including dashboards and reporting to improve visibility on pipeline activity, execution progress and optimisation outcomes.
- Provide input into Front Office committee decision‑making, supporting profitability assessments and broader strategic discussions.
- Support the development and maintenance of robust deal‑level profitability processes and controls, including standardised methodologies, validation routines and governance frameworks.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
- 7 years of experience in banking.
- Relevant technical degree‑level education with a preference toward accounting / financial and / or mathematical disciplines.
- Strong numerical and financial skills with the ability to interpret financial information, and design and use financial models.
- Knowledge of banking products, financial markets, regulatory requirements.
- Strong communication skills, including drafting of procedures, presentation materials, and other necessary documents.
- Advanced excel skills with the ability to efficiently manipulate data.
- Strong team player, confident self‑starter with excellent communication skills.
