The predicted salary is between 30000 - 42000 Β£ per year.
We currently have an opportunity for a QA Technician to join Mizkan on a permanent contract. The successful candidate will join our Technical team in Middleton, where we produce classic British Brands alongside authentic Japanese sushi seasonings and vinegar. The purpose of the role is to work closely with the site Quality Assurance Leads and carry out quality assurance checks, auditing, and development of the quality management system. Ensuring food safety, legality and quality of the products manufactured at Middleton are maintained. As well as continuously assist in driving the site technical standards, Health & Safety Standards & Quality culture standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Management of the review & update of the QMS to comply with BRC standards - aligning structures & systems with Bury site.
- Policy, Procedure & SOP review.
- Product, process mapping & monitoring expert.
- Responsible for process audit programme.
- RM & Packaging QMS generation and schedule of monitoring.
- Responsible for the generation and implementation of QACCP across site.
- Lab sampling-- logging and trending results nutritional / micro / chemical / allergen for investigations.
- Driving GMP and factory standards.
- Driving simplification of paperwork and supporting continuation of digitalisation.
- Problem resolution and route cause support.
- Completion of documentation and change controls.
- Generation of Technical/Quality training workshops.
- Delivery of Technical/Quality workshops.
Required skills, knowledge, and experience
- Basic mechanical/operational maintenance skills & problem-solving skills.
- Good verbal and written communication skills as well as numerical skills.
- Knowledge of systems β D365, CMMS, SMS, Shop floor data capture, and I Auditor.
- Legal compliance in relation to Health & Safety and Food Safety.
- Basic Food Safety.
- Environmental, Health and safety, Chemical awareness and manual handling knowledge and understanding.
- Other powered vehicles (FLT, PPT, etc) β Desirable but not essential.
