The predicted salary is between 36000 - 60000 £ per year.

To ensure Food Safety & Quality requirements of all raw materials for ME are met. To review systems and processes to ensure the most safe, efficient process for approval, release and on-going management of raw materials and their suppliers. To manage and approve the raw materials in the operating system for Mizkan Euro.

Key responsibilities

  • Raw Material approval
  • Managing raw material spec data base (currently Hamilton Grant)
  • Raw Material risk assessment and testing programme management
  • Monitor and Manage Raw Material and supplier non conformance
  • Engage with suppliers
  • Raw Material Quality System reviews to ensure compliance to external standards and internal rules
  • Support Quality Team Horizon scanning
  • Support site NPD in integration of new raw materials into the process design review
  • To have thorough understanding of EU and UK regulations

Skills, Knowledge, Experience

  • Food science or related degree qualified
  • Significant food technical experience; including microbiology, processing and HACCP
  • Food packaging knowledge and understanding
  • Contributing to continuous improvement from a technical standpoint
  • Able to influence effectively at all levels and cross functionally
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • High attention to detail
  • Strong IT skills, particularly in Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
  • Experience in Specifications in the Food industry for at least 3-5 years
  • Ideally work experience on Hamilton Grant Specifications System but not mandatory

Key relationships

  • Works closely with NPD, Technical, Quality, external suppliers

This role is based at Mizkan Bury St Edmunds site with hybrid working option available. This role reports into Regulatory Affairs Manager.
