Do you prefer being on the shop floor rather than sitting behind a desk? When a line goes down, are you the person who steps in and takes charge? Do you enjoy leading people, coaching performance, and making real improvements stick? This isn’t an office job and it’s not meant to be. At Mizkan, the home of Branston and Sarsons, the Bottling Hall is where the action happens. We’re looking for a hands-on Shift Manager who knows production lines inside out and enjoys being on the shop floor, leading from the front.
Your day starts with the team and the lines, not behind a desk. You’ll be walking the floor, working with engineers, solving problems in real time and coaching your team to keep production running safely and smoothly. When things don’t go to plan, you’ll be trusted to make decisions, adapt quickly and keep the shift moving. This is a 50/50 role: hands-on operational leadership alongside structured, continuous improvement. You’ll own your shift, lead a team of up to 11 people, and drive real change.
From safety and quality to performance and people development, you’ll have genuine ownership and influence. We’re looking for someone who:
- Has worked in food manufacturing, bottling, FMCG or packaging
- Understands production lines and shop-floor realities
- Leads confidently, even when conversations are tough
- Thinks quickly and enjoys problem-solving
- Prefers being on the floor, not watching from the sidelines
Why Mizkan?
- A close-knit, supportive culture where people aren’t just numbers
- Strong investment in the site and its future
- A safety-first environment that genuinely walks the talk
- Competitive pay, 5% bonus and strong benefits
- A leadership team that trusts you to lead, not micromanage
If you’re a practical, people-focused Shift Manager who enjoys real responsibility and real impact, we’d love to hear from you.
