At Mizkan Euro, we are searching for someone who can help people truly understand each other. This is not a traditional interpreter role built around endless documents and back-to-back translation work. It is a role built around people, relationships, trust and communication at the heart of an international business. You will work closely with Japanese leaders, UK teams and global colleagues, helping conversations flow naturally across cultures, personalities, and ways of working.
This role sits at the centre of communication within the business. Your primary focus will be live interpretation during internal meetings, particularly leadership discussions, operational deep dives, strategic conversations, and collaboration sessions involving Japanese and English-speaking colleagues. But the real value of the role goes beyond interpretation itself.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Providing Japanese–English consecutive interpretation during internal meetings and business discussions.
- Supporting Japanese expatriate leaders and international visitors.
- Helping ensure communication remains clear, accurate, and culturally sensitive.
- Acting as a trusted liaison between teams across the business.
- Supporting collaboration across leadership, sales, marketing, and operational functions.
- Assisting with occasional translation tasks where needed, though this is not a document-heavy role.
- Supporting both remote and in-person meetings across a hybrid working environment.
- Handling confidential business discussions with professionalism and discretion.
Who We’re Looking For
You do not need to be a primary speaker in either language. What matters most is your ability to operate confidently and naturally in both Japanese and English business environments. We are looking for someone with:
- Strong Japanese and English fluency.
- Business awareness and professional confidence.
- Emotional intelligence and cultural sensitivity.
- The ability to work comfortably with senior stakeholders.
- A genuine interest in building long-term relationships and becoming part of the business.
You may already work as a professional interpreter or you may come from a broader business background and naturally bridge cultures and communication. Either way, if you are someone who helps people connect, collaborate, and work effectively together, we would love to hear from you.
