Location: Luton

Salary: £30,000 to £40,000 per annum

Hourly Rate: approximately £15.40 to £20.50 per hour based on a 37.5 hour week

Contract: Temporary ongoing with a view to becoming permanent

Hours: Monday to Friday 9:00am to 5:00pm flexible 30 minute break

The Opportunity

We are supporting a growing SME who are looking to bring in an experienced Finance Assistant on a temporary ongoing basis with a clear view to the role becoming permanent. This is a hands on position within a small close knit finance team ideal for someone who enjoys variety responsibility and working in a fast paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing the purchase ledger and processing high volumes of transactions
  • Maintaining and reconciling cashbooks
  • Performing regular bank reconciliations
  • Processing client receipts and allocating payments accurately
  • Raising and managing sales invoices
  • Supporting with VAT reporting and knowledge
  • Using Excel daily including formulas and data handling
  • Assisting with general finance administration and ad hoc tasks as required

What We’re Looking For in a Finance Assistant

  • AAT qualified or equivalent
  • Proven experience within an SME finance function
  • Strong understanding of reconciliations cashbooks purchase ledger and VAT
  • Confident Excel user with formulas essential
  • Comfortable handling high transaction volumes
  • Highly adaptable proactive and happy to support across multiple areas of finance
  • Reliable detail focused and a strong team player
