Location: Leighton Buzzard

Salary: £40,000-£44,000 per annum

Working Hours: Core Hours 9am-5pm, with flexibility required between the hours of 6am and 9pm

We’re partnering with a global leader in their industry to recruit a skilled Tool Maker into their Engineering team. This role is key to maintaining and improving high-volume, high-performance production.

Key Responsibilities for Tool Maker:

  • Repair and maintain mould tools.
  • Attend breakdowns, identify fault and problem solve issues and address with minimal downtime to aid production.
  • Estimate length of time required to complete a job.
  • Ensure all work is undertaken to a high-quality standard and adheres to all quality standard regulations.
  • Ensure company targets are met in respect of quality and efficiency.
  • Manufacture new tooling and ancillary spares to support production activity.
  • Carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance on mould tools.
  • Carry out scheduled tool version changes.
  • Be actively involved in improvement activities to support the achievement of departmental and company objectives.

Essential:

  • Knowledge of measurement and build process of injection moulding tools.
  • Understanding of service scheduling.
  • Understanding of engineering drawings.
  • Understanding manufacturing processes.
  • Ability to work in a diverse and dynamic environment.
  • Planning and prioritising activities.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work well with all levels of management and support staff.
  • Ability to multi-task.

Desirable:

  • CNC, CAD/CAM experience.
  • Experience with Microsoft applications.
