As a Highway Engineer / Transport Planner, you will support the Development Management Implementation (DMI) team as part of Tetra Tech’s Professional Services Contract with Hertfordshire County Council. Working within a collaborative "One Service" model alongside partners, you will contribute to the delivery of highways and transport services that support sustainable development across the region. This role offers the opportunity to build technical capability through hands‑on project work, mentorship from senior colleagues, and exposure to both public and developer‑led schemes.

You will play a vital role in ensuring developments are supported by robust, practical and policy‑compliant transport solutions. Your work will directly influence planning outcomes, helping to deliver safe, efficient and sustainable infrastructure. By contributing to scheme development and technical reviews, you will support high‑quality service delivery while developing your own expertise within a highly collaborative environment.

Skills, Qualifications & Experience

HNC, HND, Degree or Masters in Civil Engineering, Transport Planning or a related discipline. Some relevant industry experience is required. Membership, or working towards membership, of a professional body such as ICE or CIHT is desirable.

This role supports flexible hybrid working, with a combination of office-based collaboration and home working. You will be part of a Hertfordshire-based team, working closely with colleagues and partners, with flexibility to balance project delivery and personal commitments.
