About us: Mix Media Ltd is home to Mix Interiors, an award-winning events and media company that has been helping to shape the commercial interior design industry for the last 25 years. We are seeking an experienced, dynamic, and detail-oriented Senior Event Manager to conceptualise, plan, and execute high-profile events within the UK and overseas. You will help to design and deliver some of the biggest and most anticipated events in the commercial interior design calendar – including the Mix Awards (formerly Mixology) and Mix 30 under 30, to name a few.

Event strategy & planning:

  • Help to successfully deliver and grow our award-winning events and advertising portfolio.
  • Conduct market research to identify new opportunities for growth within the UK and overseas.

Logistics & execution:

  • Oversee all aspects of event logistics, including venue sourcing, contract negotiation, vendor management (AV, catering, travel, accommodation), shipping, and local compliance.
  • Manage (multi-currency) budgets, ensuring all events are delivered on time and within financial parameters.
  • Lead the on-site execution of events, troubleshooting issues and managing local staff/contractors.

Stakeholder management:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for partners, sponsors, and internal cross-functional teams (Content, Sales and Marketing).
  • Source, evaluate, and manage relationships with external suppliers and agencies.

Compliance & risk management:

  • Ensure all events adhere to local laws, regulations and safety standards, and company policies.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive risk assessment and mitigation plans for each event.

Measurement & reporting:

  • Track and analyse key performance indicators (KPIs) for all events, providing post-event reports and recommendations for continuous improvement.

About you:

Essential skills & experience:

  • Demonstrable track record of successfully delivering world-class events – ranging from large-scale awards programmes and trade shows to smaller, more intimate gatherings.
  • B2B event management experience, with a minimum of 2 years specifically managing international events (outside of home country).
  • Exceptional project management, organisational, and time-management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills — confident dealing with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Commercial awareness: a track record of supporting growth in event or media portfolios.
  • Strong negotiation skills and experience managing significant budgets.
  • Enterprising and enquiring mind. A willingness to contribute ideas and to try new things.
  • Team player: collaborative, friendly and positive.
  • Proficiency Microsoft Office.

Desirable skills & experience:

  • Knowledge of, or a keen interest in architecture, interior design, design and culture.
  • Degree educated in business/events management/marketing (or similar).
  • Proficiency with event management software and CRM systems.
  • You will have a network of event suppliers in the UK and overseas.

What we can offer:

  • In addition to a competitive salary, we offer home-based working two days a week (Wednesday and Friday) and the opportunity to become part of a nimble, industry-recognised team.
  • Profit-related bonus – as part of our Employee Ownership Trust (EOT) membership.
  • We believe in fostering a supportive, collaborative working culture, with prospects for growth and development.
  • 28 days holiday – plus, an additional day for your birthday, and statutory days and bank holidays.
