About us: Mix Media Ltd is home to Mix Interiors, an award-winning events and media company that has been helping to shape the commercial interior design industry for the last 25 years. We are seeking an experienced, dynamic, and detail-oriented Senior Event Manager to conceptualise, plan, and execute high-profile events within the UK and overseas. You will help to design and deliver some of the biggest and most anticipated events in the commercial interior design calendar – including the Mix Awards (formerly Mixology) and Mix 30 under 30, to name a few.
Event strategy & planning:
- Help to successfully deliver and grow our award-winning events and advertising portfolio.
- Conduct market research to identify new opportunities for growth within the UK and overseas.
Logistics & execution:
- Oversee all aspects of event logistics, including venue sourcing, contract negotiation, vendor management (AV, catering, travel, accommodation), shipping, and local compliance.
- Manage (multi-currency) budgets, ensuring all events are delivered on time and within financial parameters.
- Lead the on-site execution of events, troubleshooting issues and managing local staff/contractors.
Stakeholder management:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for partners, sponsors, and internal cross-functional teams (Content, Sales and Marketing).
- Source, evaluate, and manage relationships with external suppliers and agencies.
Compliance & risk management:
- Ensure all events adhere to local laws, regulations and safety standards, and company policies.
- Develop and execute comprehensive risk assessment and mitigation plans for each event.
Measurement & reporting:
- Track and analyse key performance indicators (KPIs) for all events, providing post-event reports and recommendations for continuous improvement.
About you:
Essential skills & experience:
- Demonstrable track record of successfully delivering world-class events – ranging from large-scale awards programmes and trade shows to smaller, more intimate gatherings.
- B2B event management experience, with a minimum of 2 years specifically managing international events (outside of home country).
- Exceptional project management, organisational, and time-management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills — confident dealing with stakeholders at all levels.
- Commercial awareness: a track record of supporting growth in event or media portfolios.
- Strong negotiation skills and experience managing significant budgets.
- Enterprising and enquiring mind. A willingness to contribute ideas and to try new things.
- Team player: collaborative, friendly and positive.
- Proficiency Microsoft Office.
Desirable skills & experience:
- Knowledge of, or a keen interest in architecture, interior design, design and culture.
- Degree educated in business/events management/marketing (or similar).
- Proficiency with event management software and CRM systems.
- You will have a network of event suppliers in the UK and overseas.
