About Mitti Labs

Mitti Labs is building the infrastructure layer to scale climate-smart rice farming — starting with high-integrity, methane-reduction carbon credits. We combine AI-based dMRV, satellite data, and deep on-ground operations to verify practices and aggregate farmers at scale across India and Southeast Asia. Our customers - including Fortune 500 companies and leading agri-businesses - trust Mitti Labs to deliver measurable impact across climate, food systems, and sustainability. We are a team of 60+ data scientists, agronomists, engineers, and operators. Over the past 18 months, Mitti Labs has scaled to 70,000+ smallholder rice farmers across India and built a +US$25M carbon credit pipeline.

The Role

We are hiring a Chief of Staff to the Founder to support Mitti Labs through its next phase of growth. This is a strategy-oriented, high-ownership role designed to extend the Founder’s capacity across fundraising, company scaling, and execution of the most critical initiatives. You will work on capital raising (VC, strategic, and debt), prepare strategy and board materials, support on hiring and organizational scale-up, and cross-functional projects that cut across science, operations, commercial, and finance teams. This is a demanding role, best suited for someone who thrives in fast-moving environments, takes pride in hard work, and wants real responsibility early.

What you'll own:

  • Assist in putting together all key communication documents & memos from All-Hands Meeting slides, to Quarterly/Annual Planning slides and memos, and Board Meeting slides.
  • Collaborate with the founders and other executive leaders to define long-term strategic goals and develop clear operational plans to achieve them.
  • Actively anticipate problems/opportunities across the org and put together memos/policies for proposed solutions.

Integrator

  • Facilitate clear and effective communication across the leadership team ensuring no one is working in silos & priorities are aligned.
  • Keep the leadership team focused on their priorities and track deliverables.

Requirements

We are open to different profiles, but you likely come from:

  • A high-growth startup (Chief of Staff, Ops, Strategy, or early leadership role), or
  • A top-tier finance, consulting, or investing background with strong execution instincts.

Extremely hard-working, with a strong sense of ownership. Comfortable operating in ambiguity and switching contexts quickly. Strong analytical and written communication skills. High judgment, discretion, and ability to earn trust. Motivated by impact, learning, and responsibility rather than narrow role definitions.

Benefits

Be at the frontline of climate-tech. Mitti Labs is tackling the methane emissions and water-intensive practices of rice farming — a major global climate lever that few organisations are focussed on. You’ll work with satellite/AI/field-data to drive real change, not just build features.

High-impact global platform + deep local action. The company’s work spans from smallholder farmers in India and Southeast Asia to global carbon markets and buyers. You’ll have the opportunity to interface with both real-world farm operations and high-level climate finance.

Work with a mission-driven, elite team in a dynamic growth environment. Mitti Labs is backed by top investors (Lightspeed, Voyager) and led by a team with deep expertise in agriculture, carbon science and tech. If you join, you’ll be in a high-growth startup environment where your contributions matter, iteration is rapid, priorities evolve—and you’ll see your work have tangible impact on climate and livelihoods.
