Main Purpose and Accountability of the Role
Within EPO Finance, you will be responsible for the Accounting Policy Group (APG), ensuring compliance and providing technical expertise.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical accounting advice for MUFG EMEA & International entities.
- Partner with Front Office to advise on accounting implications of business activities and inform about upcoming accounting changes.
- Advise on accounting policies for new products, deals, restructurings, and complex transactions.
- Train front and back office teams on accounting developments.
- Engage with external auditors on policy matters.
- Issue new accounting policies under IFRS.
- Advise on accounting and classification for consolidation reporting under IFRS, UK, US, and Japanese GAAP.
- Review disclosures and support Financial Reporting teams in preparing financial statements.
- Participate in industry groups to share best practices and insights.
- Contribute to ad-hoc projects as needed.
Technical Capabilities
- Provide technical advice across EMEA & International Business units based on relevant GAAP.
- Manage conflicting priorities effectively.
