Overview Of The Department/Section

MUFG has been involved in aviation for more than 30 years, providing a wide range of financial solutions. Our Aviation Finance team serves Airlines, Operating Lessors, and other aircraft investors and owners, offering financing and advisory services related to aircraft acquisition, ownership, and leasing. The team combines deep industry knowledge with strong relationships across the sector.

Main Purpose of the Role

Support the Portfolio Management team in monitoring aviation transactions and assisting with credit and administrative tasks. The role will involve learning core aspects of portfolio management, risk monitoring, and client servicing under close guidance from senior team members.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in preparing semi-annual/annual reviews of aviation facilities, including data gathering and analysis (e.g., LTV calculations, loan summaries, asset details).
  • Support the processing of waiver/client requests by coordinating with internal teams and following established procedures.
  • Help monitor loan covenants and update internal systems with accurate data.
  • Assist in admin tasks related to credit facilities, such as account opening, KYC documentation etc.
  • Maintain accurate records in internal monitoring systems for loans and collateral.
  • Collaborate with senior team members on refinancing, restructuring, and amendments of transactions.
  • Participate in ad-hoc projects and reporting exercises as assigned.
  • Work closely with colleagues in Credit/ Origination/Operations to ensure smooth communication and timely escalation of issues.
  • Develop understanding of Facility Agent, Security Trustee, and Account Bank responsibilities through shadowing and training.
  • Build knowledge of aviation finance and structured lending through on-the-job learning and formal training.

Work Experience

Internship or some exposure to banking, finance, or aviation-related roles preferred. Strong interest in aviation finance and willingness to learn.

Functional / Technical Competencies

  • Strong analytical and numeracy skills.
  • Proficiency in Excel and willingness to learn financial modelling.
  • Basic understanding of banking products and processes (training will be provided).
  • Attention to detail and ability to follow structured processes.

Education / Qualifications

Degree level or equivalent in Finance, Economics, Business, or related field or relevant work experience.
