As Head of Financial Risk Director at MUFG in London, you will support the Finance Division’s mission to maintain financial health through rigorous risk oversight. Your day‑to‑day activities include collaborating closely with colleagues across EMEA and global teams to manage all aspects of operational risk.
- Assist with maintaining and refreshing the Finance Risk and Control Self‑Assessment (RCSA) and ensuring ongoing compliance with internal frameworks and external regulations.
- Deliver engaging risk management training sessions to Finance colleagues, helping embed best practices and foster a strong risk‑aware culture throughout the department.
- Independently review completed non‑SOX control testing, providing constructive feedback to drive continuous improvement within the Finance function.
- Conduct deep‑dive reviews into internal or external events and processes, identifying root causes and recommending actionable solutions for enhanced resilience.
- Produce high‑quality management information (MI) on risk and control matters using modern technologies such as AI, highlighting quality issues and gaps requiring remediation.
- Support regular risk assessments in line with framework requirements, ensuring all findings are accurately documented and escalated as necessary.
- Contribute to the Finance Risk Appetite Framework (RAF) and Horizon Scanning forum by analysing risk tool data for inclusion in committee presentations.
- Challenge risk and control owners constructively to provide evidence for issue closure, ensuring accountability across all levels of the Finance function.
- Act as subject‑matter expert on risk management tools within Finance, extracting reports and performing detailed data analysis to identify non‑compliance or inefficiencies.
