The Information and Data Management (IDM) department is responsible for data management and MI production across all international subsidiaries of MUFG Bank, including the EMEA region. The department's mandate is to:

  • Develop a business-led, technology-enabled data strategy and roadmap for the delivery of data management target state.
  • Develop a data governance framework and establish data-related policies and procedures to improve the value of data as an enterprise asset.
  • Source, validate and maintain master data repositories of market and reference data.
  • Agree data quality standards with business owners and track metrics to continuously improve data processes.
  • Investigate and analyse data issues, identify root causes and recommend control improvements.
  • Develop and support an MI platform optimised for data aggregation and reporting of processed and analysed information.
  • Deliver accurate, timely and insightful MI to the international business to support executive decision making and meet statutory and regulatory reporting requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Provide front-line support to Head Office credit systems' users in the region.
  • Provide guidance and assistance to users of Head Office credit systems: Global ZEUS, GCARS.
  • Carry out duties as a London Data Officer, and provide support in delivering HO Monthly DQ Monitoring report where required.
  • Participate proactively in data management activities.
  • Support a business-led, technology-enabled data strategy and roadmap for the delivery of the data management target state.
  • Agree data quality standards with business owners and track metrics and continuously improve data processes.
  • Act as the regional representative for Bank HO credit systems and provide guidance and support to business users to enable sound and smooth execution of the credit sanctioning process.
  • Investigate and analyse data issues, identify root causes and recommend control improvements.

Essential and Preferred

  • Essential: Business experience with Japanese clients or partners.
  • Preferred: Previous experience in a support desk or service desk role; Experience working with Financial Institutions.

Skills and Experience

  • Fluent Japanese language and business communication skills.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office software (e.g., Excel).
  • Preferred: Knowledge of Credit Risk and underlying data requirements; Business Intelligence software, e.g., Tableau / Business Objects.

Education / Qualifications

  • Essential: Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
  • Preferred: Degree in Data Science, Computer Science or a related field.
