MUFG, a globally respected financial institution with a robust presence in major markets, is seeking an Apex Support Business Analyst to join their E-Platforms (ETP) Apex Team in London. This role focuses on Repo and Securities Borrowing & Lending (SBL) products and involves providing hands‑on functional and technical support to front‑office trading platforms, ensuring smooth operations and safe delivery of enhancements.
Responsibilities
- Support critical Front Office trading platforms across asset classes, focusing on Repo and SBL products.
- Provide comprehensive L1, L2, and L3 support for the Apex platform by responding promptly to trader and Front Office queries.
- Maintain and support the Apex application and associated services to guarantee optimal performance and reliability for business users.
- Analyse complex business requirements and produce detailed functional specifications and practical solutions tailored to Front Office challenges.
- Offer deep expertise on Repo and SBL workflows including trade booking, lifecycle events, pricing mechanisms, and settlements.
- Lead or contribute to business‑as‑usual (BAU) initiatives and small‑to‑medium projects to enhance platform functionality.
- Represent the BAU support function during project delivery meetings and design discussions, acting as a bridge between technology teams and business stakeholders.
- Perform thorough functional testing of Apex BAU deliverables to validate changes meet business needs before production deployment.
- Approve test results prior to production releases, ensuring delivered code and configurations do not introduce new risks.
- Support ongoing system maintenance activities so the platform remains up‑to‑date with regulatory requirements and technological advancements.
- Document solutions clearly and share knowledge effectively with global support teams.
Qualifications
- Extensive hands‑on experience supporting Apex Securities Finance applications within an investment banking context.
- In‑depth understanding of Repo and Securities Borrowing & Lending products and related workflows.
- Proven track record supporting Fixed Income trading desks in high‑pressure environments.
- Comprehensive knowledge of end‑to‑end trade lifecycle processes, including pricing models, trade capture, and booking procedures.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to provide L1/L2 application support directly within Front Office settings.
- Working familiarity with Linux environments, including performance monitoring and routine maintenance.
- Understanding of FIX protocol standards and FIX messaging.
- Experience using the Apex Loanet Interface (ALI) or exposure to Apex Toolkit APIs.
- C++ development or debugging experience is considered beneficial.
