Overview of the Department/Section
As a Sales Person within the Derivative Solutions Group (DSG), you will assist our EMEA client base (focused on UK, Middle East, and Africa for Corporates, Project Finance, Financial Sponsors, and others) in assessing financial risks and managing hedging policies, with an emphasis on Interest Rate Derivatives. You will collaborate closely with our Debt Capital Markets team, MUFG Bank (Leveraged Finance, Project Finance, Aviation Finance, Securitisation, etc.), and MUFG Securities Rates Trading Group to ensure seamless client execution, providing ideas, solutions, competitive pricing, and post-trade support. Main products include interest rate swaps, cross currency swaps, rate options, inflation swaps, and structured derivatives.
Main Responsibilities
- Engage with targeted clients (Corporates, Financial Sponsors, Project Finance companies, etc.) to develop and enhance our derivatives franchise, contributing to revenue targets through trade execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and develop relationships with key MUFG Bank clients to expand the department’s franchise.
- Price, model, execute, and book transactions and risk positions accurately.
- Coordinate pricing requests with relevant trading desks and provide accurate information for pricing.
- Collaborate with internal teams (Debt Capital Markets, Project Finance, Leveraged Finance) to promote cross-selling.
- Create tailored client presentations and pitch-books with relevant news, economic data, and macro themes.
- Manage internal workstreams, including KYC, legal documentation, lifecycle management, and issue resolution during trade lifecycle.
- Work with the DSG team to handle client requests and develop new initiatives or products.
Work Experience
- 2-3+ years in a similar role.
- Experience with interest rate derivatives and structured products is a plus.
Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required; MBA, MSc, CFA, or equivalent experience is a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint).
- Experience preparing client presentations and term sheets.
- Fluent in English.
