MUFG, a global financial group with more than 150,000 employees and 2,300 offices worldwide, is seeking a Senior Auditor to join its Global Financial Crimes and Compliance Audit team in London. The role supports risk assessment, audit planning, fieldwork execution, issue validation, and continuous monitoring across Financial Crimes, Fraud and Core Compliance portfolios. Candidates will work in a hybrid model (three days per week in the office) and will have extensive training opportunities and the chance to develop expertise in wholesale/investment banking and European regulatory environments.
What you’ll do:
- Plan and execute audit engagements in Financial Crimes, Fraud and Core Compliance.
- Conduct thorough fieldwork, document findings, and raise workpapers.
- Assist in maintaining the EIA risk universe and performing risk assessments.
- Support or lead continuous monitoring assignments and contribute to strategic audit projects.
- Track issue resolution and validate management actions.
- Build constructive relationships with peers and clients across MUFG’s global footprint.
- Travel occasionally (up to 10%) for audit activities.
What you bring:
- Experience as an auditor or compliance specialist in financial services, especially banking or trading institutions.
- Strong understanding of risk controls in wholesale/investment banking and capital markets.
- Knowledge of auditing methods and industry best practices.
- Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively across global teams.
- Proficiency in one or more European languages is an advantage.
- Bachelor’s degree or relevant professional qualifications (CIA, ACCA) preferred; equivalent experience acceptable.
- Background in data analytics or financial crime qualifications (ICA/ACAMs) is desirable.
