We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Generator Engineer to join our Engineering team. This role will serve as the primary technical point of contact for our customers, providing expertise and resolution of issues related to generator electrical, mechanical, and auxiliary systems. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong technical capability, customer focus, and the ability to work within a multidisciplinary engineering environment that includes gas and steam turbine operational aspects. This position also supports the Engineering Manager and wider engineering team across a range of customer support activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical expertise and problem resolution for generator systems and associated auxiliaries.
- Support generator operation, maintenance, commissioning, and outage activities at customer sites.
- Prepare and deliver technical reports, specifications, and presentations in line with engineering standards and customer requirements.
- Conduct troubleshooting, verification, and root cause analysis, ensuring effective corrective and preventive measures.
- Liaise between field and design teams to address technical challenges and drive resolution.
- Collaborate with procurement teams on technical specifications, RFQs, and vendor qualifications.
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships, ensuring issues are communicated and resolved in a timely and professional manner.
- Represent the company during inspections, customer meetings, and technical reviews, upholding the highest standards of professionalism and integrity.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
- Strong knowledge of generator mechanical components (bearings, seals, rotor components, end-windings, etc.).
- Experience with large rotating machinery; familiarity with gas and steam turbines is advantageous.
- Demonstrated ability to write technical reports, specifications, and procedures.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with effective communication across multiple levels of the organization.
- Customer-focused mindset with proven ability to manage urgent and complex technical requests.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Fluency in business English; Japanese language skills are beneficial but not essential.
- Willingness to travel internationally up to 50% and to support urgent customer requirements outside of standard working hours.
