Reporting to the Senior Supply Chain Specialist, the Supply Chain Engineer will be responsible for developing, delivering, maintaining and improving the supply chain in line with the expansion of Mitsubishi Power's Engineering Service Business across the EMEA region.
What will you do in the role?
- Develop the supply chain of components (parts, consumables, tooling and other spares) to allow the local or direct procurement of these components.
- Support development of reduction in cost and lead times within procurement.
- Liaise with Engineering/Repairs and Procurement to establish potential for local Procurement of new parts.
- Actively resolve supply chain issues by liaising with Engineering, Procurement, Quality, Inventory & Logistics, suppliers and the Programme Management Team.
- Support issue resolution during the process from request to delivery to site.
- Liaise with global and regional engineering and procurement teams based in EMEA region, Leeds and at the London headquarters.
- Develop the supply chain for Gas Turbines, Steam Turbines and other components.
- Support the strategy to meet quality standards, reduce cost and lead time.
- Develop knowledge and understanding of components, materials and manufacturing methods by studying drawings and specifications.
- Liaise with other departments such as Engineering, Programme Management and Commercial.
- Report to Supply Chain & Procurement management on project progress and issues.
Qualifications
- Relevant degree or qualification such as Mechanical Engineering, or Material Engineering, or CIPS Qualified.
- Engineering knowledge/experience is required.
- Competent in reading technical and engineering drawings.
- An interest in both technical and commercial aspects of the business.
- A willingness to develop knowledge of the gas and steam turbine business and/or technology.
- Strong analytical and technical report writing skills.
- MS Office suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
- Some experience with Project Management is an advantage.
- Fluency in business English.
- Good presentation, diplomacy and verbal skills.
- Supportive, independent, self-driven.
