Our Component Repair Engineering (CRE) Team are looking for a flexible and forward-thinking candidate with an interest in developing a career within the energy industry. CRE supports the maintenance and repair activities of Steam and Gas Turbine components within Mitsubishi Power EMEA’s regional fleet. The Component Repair Engineering Team have a responsibility for managing the standard suite of authorised repairs but additionally have the authority to develop flexible and novel repair solutions for technical problems that often arise. You will rotate within the CRE (Component Repair Engineering) Team, enabling you to enhance your skills and experience in a wide range of engineering activities. This role is designed to develop a solid foundation in all aspects of component repair with the ability to support multiple repair activities, across the EMEA region.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Support the operation and maintenance of Mitsubishi Power EMEA's Gas and Steam Gas Turbines including Accessory systems.
- Develop a detailed understanding of high temperature components, their design, material composition, coatings and repair processes.
- Perform quality control inspection checks and liaison visits to MPW repair vendor workshops.
- Assist in the preparation of Gas and Steam Turbine technical repair procedures following the instruction of the Engineering Manager or Engineering Director.
- Support creation of Request for Quotation and Purchase Specifications following the instruction of the Engineering Manager or Senior Director to Suppliers and partners.
- Respond to internal and external customer requests for technical issue resolution, using technical product knowledge and analytical skills while adhering to sound engineering principles, standards, practices, procedures.
- Escalate issues as required acting as the liaison between service delivery and design teams to drive technical resolution and to help engineering identify, drive corrective methodologies.
- Establish and maintain relationships with repair centres and internal customers to ensure technical issues/requirements are understood and addressed in a timely manner.
- Document technical data generated by the assigned project consistent with engineering policies and procedures.
- Prepare technical repair reports for Customers ensuring the timely communication of significant issues or developments.
- Travel to customer locations to inspect and evaluate components requiring repair and to attend review meetings.
- Support unplanned/forced outages to meet the Customer's needs.
Qualifications
- A strong understanding of Turbines and theoretical knowledge of mechanical principles. This can either be from experience of working on Turbines, such as Aircraft maintenance or Degree-based understanding.
- Effective oral and written communication and organisational skills.
- Experience in CAD and ability to read and understand Technical Drawings.
- Good interpersonal skills and team-orientated approach.
- Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team with people from different cultures and nationalities.
- Ability to produce accurately written and detailed technical reports in English.
- Good knowledge of MS Office suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
- Discipline, punctuality, integrity and accountability are essential.
