Reporting to: After Sales Manager

Office Location: Stockley Park, Uxbridge, UB11 1ET

Working Hours: Monday to Friday – 9am – 5pm (35 hours per week, 1 hour lunch break)

Job Summary: After Sales Engineer carries out various activities related to technical support for distributors and partners in assigned territories, specifically for air conditioning, heat pumps, and refrigeration. Works closely with Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Thermal Systems (MTH) service/design section and factory service section. Reports to the Manager in the Technical Division. Must continually develop knowledge of MHI product specifications, plan services for new products, instruct service methods, and promote new MHI products.

Main Duties Description:

  • Provide technical support to distributors and customers: respond to inquiries via e‑mail or phone promptly, investigate unit troubles and claims, visit sites for commissioning, troubleshooting and data verification, submit technical support reports.
  • Support MTH/Factory after‑sales activities and spare parts operations to improve delivery.
  • Prepare technical support documents in English and other European languages, propose improvements, and create new service tools.
  • Support design and service sections: promote MHI products, introduce new products highlighting features and benefits, create presentations, organize seminars and workshops for distributors and customers, and help produce brochures and leaflets for territories.
  • Conduct market research: benchmark competitor products, survey relevant standards, regulations and EU directives, attend exhibitions, and participate in industry association seminars and meetings.
  • Accelerate and support customer business: build relationships, oversee major accounts, foster long‑term partnerships, and provide feedback on potential product and service improvements.

Experience, Knowledge and Skills:

  • An engineering degree or equivalent qualification.
  • Minimum three years of technical experience in air conditioning, heat pumps, and/or refrigeration, preferably with manufacturers or distributors.
  • Knowledge of refrigeration cycle, commercial refrigeration systems, VRF systems, heat pump and chiller systems, building management systems, and EU regulations/directives related to air conditioning and refrigeration.
  • Fluent English (oral and written); knowledge of other European languages beneficial.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, problem‑solving, multi‑tasking, prioritising, and customer‑requirement understanding skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Business travel across Europe with short notice required; must be able to travel Europe without visa.
