Role summary: The Vertical Industry Account Manager (VIAM) is accountable for delivering in-year sales revenue from a list of nominated key customers within a Vertical Industry (e.g. Water, Rail, Automotive) and improving overall GM% per account.

Skills/Responsibilities:

  • Accountable for delivering sales revenue from assigned key accounts in a Vertical market.
  • Accountable for maintaining a healthy pipeline of qualified opportunities.
  • Responsible for improving account GM%, secondary to top-line performance.
  • Commit an accurate monthly forecast to Sales Management, reporting changes as part of overall forecast process.
  • Accountable for the sales Win Plan per Opportunity.
  • Work with PM+BD teams, contributing sales intelligence to 3yr Vertical development strategy.
  • Onboard and orchestrate an internal, cross-functional Pursuit Team to design winning value propositions and take your guidance/instruction.

Experience Required:

  • 7+ years of sales and account management experience is required.
  • Expert knowledge of selling technical products, services, and/or solutions into the Vertical Industry.
  • Experience selling hardware, software, and lifecycle services is desirable.
  • A Technical or Engineering qualification is desired, though not essential: Vocational experience is viable, as is a seasoned professional in a similar senior sales or Sales Management role.
  • Specific competence in Key Account Management and Executive-level selling is required for this senior Sales role.
  • Resourcefulness, use own initiative, ability to work under pressure.
  • Ability to communicate and influence through conversation, communications, and presentation.
  • Proven sales negotiation skills.
  • Ability to understand commercial contracts and the associated risk-related business decisions.
  • Proactive and flexible approach.
  • Full UK Driving license.
