The Maintenance Lift Engineer Apprentice is responsible for supporting the inspection, servicing, maintenance, fault diagnosis, repair, and safe operation of lifts, escalators, and associated vertical transportation equipment under the supervision of qualified engineers.
The role involves:
- Assisting with planned preventative maintenance
- Responding to breakdowns
- Identifying and reporting faults
- Replacing and adjusting mechanical and electrical components
- Ensuring all work is completed in accordance with company procedures, health and safety legislation, and industry standards

Key responsibilities include:
- Assisting with scheduled servicing and maintenance of lifts and associated equipment
- Completing maintenance tasks in line with service schedules and engineering standards

- Helping ensure equipment reliability and minimise breakdowns
- Supporting qualified engineers in identifying and diagnosing faults
- Assisting with mechanical and electrical repairs under supervision
- Successfully completing apprenticeship training modules and assessments
- Demonstrating continuous improvement in fault-finding, maintenance, and repair activities
- Applying learning from classroom and on-site training effectively
- Completing work accurately and to required engineering standards
- Following maintenance procedures and technical instructions carefully
