Role summary

The Residential Technical Sales and Support Engineer drives sales by identifying customer needs, recommending suitable repair, upgrade or replacement solutions, and providing expert technical support throughout the sales process.

The role blends technical expertise with customer relationship management to deliver effective, compliant, and cost‑efficient proposals, conduct remote site assessments, and support successful project delivery.

Skills/Responsibilities

  • Achieve sales targets for remedial works
  • Accurately process and manage Residential Engineer Reports within agreed SLA’s
  • Create and provide customer quotations with agreed SLA
  • Convert remedial and system upgrade/replacement quotation into orders against agreed SLA’s of conversion rate and profitability
  • Support Residential Scheduling team and Engineering team with technical support and guidance
  • Ensure any required remedial works for our contract customers is carried out within SLA by identifying the required works from the engineer reports, actioning the material and working with the scheduling and engineer teams to carry these works out
  • Accurately update and record all activity within the CRM platform
  • Provide regular technical and sales feedback to the Site Services Operations Manager
  • Deliver and maintain high levels of customer service excellence and satisfaction through achieving agreed SLA’s and receiving feedback through platforms such as Trust Pilot.

Experience

  • Is able to work in the Mitsubishi Electric, Manchester (Trafford Park) Office at least 3 days a week
  • High level of experience and knowledge of residential heating systems, applications and legislation
  • Knowledge and experience of Air Source heat pump technology and application
  • Commercial knowledge and experience in a heating service and maintenance environment – can demonstrate the ability to achieve sales targets and manage quotations through to a successful outcome
  • Experience in reading, reviewing and interpreting engineer reports and delivering actions off the back of them
  • Familiarity of dealing with heating supply chains. Obtaining quotations and negotiating best price
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills – being able to work with colleagues and customers of differing technical skill and knowledge.
  • I. T. competency & literacy - demonstrable ability to use the Microsoft suite of programs and applications
  • Experience of working with a customer service (CRM) platform – (such as Dynamics 365 Field Service)
  • Strong customer service skills – demonstrating a desire to find the right resolution for each customer
  • Demonstrate strong team ethics – the person can support and collaborate with colleagues to provide the best, customer centric service
