Role summary: The Business Analyst supports the analysis, documentation, and improvement of business processes and systems. The role gathers and clarifies requirements, assists in solution design, and ensures that project outcomes align with business needs.

Skills/Responsibilities:

  • Develops creation of effective requirement strategies.
  • Groom the product backlog based on the prioritisation provided by the product owner and stakeholders.
  • Create detailed process maps.
  • Work with the product owner and the stakeholders to understand the scope and suggest improvements to the requirements.
  • Attend requirements and design workshops to create user stories that identify the proposed solution.
  • Use business and divisional knowledge to consider impact on other processes and additional testing needs.
  • Work with business and IT to ensure that the system solutions fully meet the business requirements.
  • Create the requirements in the form of user stories with appropriate acceptance criteria.
  • Add context around the requirements and ensure there is the right level of detail at the right time to satisfy the development team needs.
  • Ensure the development team has enough details to get the task/project done by providing process documentation, business domain models, event and interaction models and any other supporting material to enable stories to meet requirements.

Experience:

  • Good business analysis (minimum of 3 years).
  • Good experience with requirements gathering and documentation (minimum of 3 years).
  • Balance of technical knowledge and business acumen.
  • Customer first, ABCD thinking mindset.
  • Proactive, self-starter with excellent project management skills and ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage, influence, and inspire partners and stakeholders to drive collaboration and alignment.
  • High degree of organization, individual initiative, and personal accountability.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
  • Sense of ownership and pride in your performance and its impact on the company’s success.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to present to a wide variety of technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Team player, able to contribute ideas improving and influencing all software deliverables and related processes.
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills, able to evaluate designs and technologies in a pragmatic manner.
