Mitsubishi Power Europe (MPW-EUK) Component Repair Engineering (CRE) Team are looking for a flexible and forward-thinking candidate with an interest in developing a career within the energy industry. CRE supports the maintenance and repair activities of Steam and Gas Turbine components within the MPW-EUK regional fleet. CRE has responsibility for managing the standard suite of authorised repairs and also has the authority to develop flexible and novel repair solutions for technical problems that arise.
Role details
MPW-EUK are looking for a recent graduate or an experienced engineer who wants an engineering career within a multi-national engineering organisation. The role will be based on a fixed term 2-year contract and includes a 6-month rotation within the CRE Team to gain experience across a wide range of engineering activities. The position will develop a solid foundation in all aspects of component repair and support multiple repair activities across the EMEA region. Location: Leeds, UK.
Role Responsibilities
- Support the operation and maintenance of MPW-EUK Gas and Steam Gas Turbines including Accessory systems.
- Develop a detailed understanding of high temperature components, their design, material composition, coatings and repair processes.
- Perform quality control inspection checks and liaison visits to MPW repair vendor workshops.
- Assist in the preparation of Gas and Steam Turbine technical repair procedures following the instruction of the Engineering Manager or Engineering Director.
- Support creation of Request for Quotations and Purchase Specifications following instruction from the Engineering Manager or Senior Director to suppliers and partners.
- Respond to internal and external customer requests for technical issue resolution using technical product knowledge and analytical skills while adhering to engineering principles, standards, practices and procedures.
- Escalate issues as required, acting as liaison between service delivery and design teams to drive technical resolution and help engineering identify corrective methods.
- Establish and maintain relationships with repair centres and internal customers to ensure technical issues/requirements are understood and addressed promptly.
- Document technical data generated by the assigned project consistent with engineering policies and procedures.
- Support unplanned/forced outages to meet customer needs.
- Provide technical support to commercial teams for sales and services proposal activities.
- Act as interface between commercial, service and repairs.
Who can apply?

- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a similar degree with a Thermal Power bias.
- A strong theoretical knowledge of mechanical principles.
- Effective oral and written communication and organisational skills.
- Experience in CAD and ability to read and understand technical drawings.
- Good interpersonal skills and a team-oriented approach.
- Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team with people from different cultures and nationalities.
- Ability to produce accurately written and detailed technical reports in English.
- Good knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Discipline, punctuality, integrity and accountability are essential.
