About the Role
Are you looking for an opportunity to provide leadership and guidance for all Process Safety Functions?
Main Responsibilities
- Responsible for ensuring the site management team are aware and committed to practices and processes required to comply with the process safety requirements of the COMAH regulations.
- Maintain, develop and monitor the site process safety indicators (PSPIs). Recommend improvement/action plans based on the metrics.
- Support the development and maintenance of the process safety management (PSM) system to demonstrate the requirements of the COMAH regulations (COMAH Safety Report - Chapter 1).
- Provide guidance to aid the company to identify and assess major accident hazards via management of change processes and the 5 year COMAH safety report cycle (COMAH Safety Report - Chapter 2).
- Lead and coordinate the development/maintenance of the sites basis of safety (BOS) for each plant area (Internal BOS documents and COMAH safety Report - Chapter 3).
- Contribute to the preparation and delivery of process safety related HSE intervention meetings.
- Responsible for providing process safety best practice guidance for the development of company Process Safety related Site Procedures.
- Manage the companies Process Safety risk assessment programme (HAZID, HAZOP, LOPA etc) to ensure updates are completed in line with the companies, management of change systems and the 5 year COMAH safety report cycle.
- Responsible person for Domino exchanges with all Saltend Chemicals Park companies.
- Share company process safety information globally with Soarnol Department, MCC and MCE.
- Identify and manage suitable and competent external process safety consultancy support and act as an intelligent customer as required.
- Through seminars, training and industry groups remain up to date with process safety best practice.
Your Skills and Experience
- Degree qualified in chemical / process engineering.
- Appropriate Process Safety training e.g. COGENT, IChemE HAZOP Leader, ABB LOPA, TUV Functional safety.
- Knowledge of COMAH essential.
- Preferably a Chartered Member of the IChemE or someone working towards becoming a chartered engineer.
- Minimum 5+ years process safety experience in a similar role within the petrochemical / chemical process industries.
- Experience of working on an upper tier COMAH site.
- Previous experience in roles requiring significant external stakeholder relationship development and internal / external knowledge transfer.
