At Mitsubishi Chemical UK Electrolytes Division we are a small team of 30-50 employees manufacturing Sol-Rite formulated electrolytes in organic solvents. These are used for lithium-ion batteries with formulations designed to meet the customer needs and to optimise the battery performance.
Responsibilities
- Carry out Engineering and SHE audits to programme, produce improvement plans and management of improvement actions;
- Provide functional support for common site electrical distribution systems β ensuring operation and maintenance of these systems. To the correct SHE standards, reliability, cost, efficiency, and appropriate frequency are carried out by the most appropriate suppliers;
- Provide support for all the Production Operators / technicians across MC UK Ltd β Electrolyte Division, to ensure that their work is to the appropriate safety, cost effective and highest engineering standards. Also, to enhance their trade flexibilities and operational knowledge for the benefit of the business;
- Specify and manage minor modifications and projects for MC UK Ltd β Electrolyte Division;
- Define and implement engineering routines in SAP, job methods and instructions plus record engineering data required for future work, problem solving etc in line with best practices;
- Contribute to the development of engineering policy, best practice, and standards to achieve continuous improvement. Lead development of the Mechanical & Electrical Infrastructure within the MC UK Ltd β Electrolyte Division, area and ensure the completion of subsequent actions;
- Provide functional technical support to the Manufacturing Teams, including fault diagnosis and work specification, to ensuring plant integrity and efficiency in accordance with technical and operational as essential;
- Provided weekly maintenance schedules, looking ahead to ensure work can be schedule in advance and in agreement with the MC UK Ltd β Electrolyte Division Production team, communication of these updates to the lunch time meeting to make all team members aware of the ongoing maintenance, ensure all P&ID Drawings & Manuals are maintained, and updated on a regular review, and the control of maintenance spares.
Qualifications
- Bachelor\βs degree in an engineering field such as mechanical or electrical (degree takes 3 years to complete);
- At least 3 years experience as an maintenance manager or similar role;
- You provide a high level of customer service and continuous improvement of maintenance management;
- The job holder is the key link to effective working relationships that are necessary to deliver this role;
- The delivery of the safe work control accountability requires good understanding and a strong managers ability to work alongside other manages within the Electrolyte Management team;
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
- The job holder must also be flexible to other demands of the department.
