Salary: £6,552 per annum – Contract: Part Time – Position Type: Permanent – Hours: 10 hours per week.
Location: GSK, Shewalton Road, Irvine, North Ayrshire, Scotland, KA11 5AP. Anyone with an allergy to penicillin will not be considered for the role due to the product being made at the site.
Role Overview: We have an opening to support our Pharmaceutical client within the Irvine area, offering laboratory support working within an integrated environment and with a well established team. The opportunity is ideal for an undergraduate looking to gain vital experience while studying, or for an individual whose weekend schedule fits this role. It is important to have an appreciation of working in a regulated environment.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare mobile phase, eluent, reagents, and daily laboratory solutions and samples.
- Remove laboratory waste, collect samples, and perform glassware cleaning.
- Conduct equipment performance qualification checks and schedule equipment calibration and functionality testing.
- Ensure tasks are completed according to the schedule to avoid any impact on production.
- Adhere to ALCOA+ principles (attributable, legible, contemporaneous, original, and accurate).
- Maintain 100% completion in MyLearning and Mitie Learning Hub.
- Provide flexibility to cover any activity supporting plant production.
Qualifications:
- Education at A level/Higher or demonstrable experience in a GxP environment, preferably in chemistry.
- Attention to detail and ability to work methodically.
- Effective communication skills to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Confidence to challenge behaviours and drive continuous improvement.
- Ability to work under pressure, independently, and to move between laboratories.
- Physical ability to lift and move equipment as required.
