The predicted salary is between 36000 - 60000 £ per year.
The Volume Management team are the custodians of all knowledge around volume for our customers. They ensure all systems are maintained and contact accurate data to enable all teams to carry out their duties. They are also responsible for the creation of volume forecasts on behalf of our customers to feed into various systems/outputs. The Volume Analyst will also be responsible for managing the on-line reporting system which will include set-up, delivery and management of reporting. Key responsibilities will be to ensure reports are accurate and generated on time for issue. Analysis and commentary will be required to deliver actionable insights to our customers based upon the reports, along with key data observations.
Main duties:
- Support our customer's energy usage on both fixed and flexible energy contracts, utilising tools to assess and manage volume and cost.
- Take the lead for the Energy team and our customers in relation to all aspects of Volume, including forecasts and position reporting.
- Analyse volume trends using complex analytical models for customers and provide actionable insights to both internal and external teams.
- Utilise tools available using M&T techniques to combine all volume inputs including fiscal supplies, PPA and onsite generation to identify opportunities for customers.
- Develop analytical models including development of algorithms in Matlab and other systems to ensure efficiency and governance of customer outputs.
- Collaborate with the trading desk in the analysis of risk management performance, supplementing with delivery of hedging reviews, volume tolerance analysis and other reports as required.
- Manage queries in consumption identified via the Data Management team through to resolution and provide support on complex metering issues.
- Maintain awareness of changes in the Energy market that will impact our customers. Seek to understand these changes and research, understand, reflect, and communicate these to internal teams.
- Attendance at both supplier and customer meetings providing input into volume trends.
- Any other duty which reasonably falls within the scope of this role.
Requirements:
- Track record of working with large data sets, with appreciation of data visualisation.
- An understanding of energy and carbon management terminology, principles, and methodologies.
- Proven ability with Excel and other data analytic tools.
- Understand the principles of energy reporting including relevant M&T techniques.
- Understand UK's transmission and distribution frameworks and policy developments for renewable technologies, including existing and new support mechanisms for renewables and interaction with wider market design.
- Strong quantitative, writing, communication, and analytical skills.
- High proficiency in MS Office applications, including Word, PowerPoint, Access and Excel.
- Programming experience in Matlab, SRSS and SQL desirable.
- Able to work within a dynamic environment with good attention to detail.
- Able to work to tight deadlines and self-manage priorities amongst multiple tasks.
- Able to communicate externally in a clear and approachable manner.
Knowledge, skills & experience:
- Demonstrable experience in leading teams.
- Track record of working with large data sets, with appreciation of data visualisation.
- Knowledge of MOP/DC/DA market.
