Join our dynamic team at Mitie Telecoms to develop and implement detailed telecoms planning strategies that support network expansion and optimisation, all whilst collaboratively working with various functions internally to achieve company objectives.
As a Planning Surveyor based at our modern Manchester offices, you will be part of the Acquisition & Planning team. The role is a technical SME role that involves the management of a volume of delivery activity associated with securing the necessary planning rights that enable the delivery of Mitie projects. This may relate to MNO customer projects (from upgrades to replacement and new sites; whether on a temporary or permanent basis) and specialist projects involving Solar PV and EV solutions. The Planning Surveyor is expected to work across multiple Client programmes, so it is essential to be a team player and have the technical experience to advise on and deliver Planning related activity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Undertake site surveys and planning appraisals to enable the successful delivery of projects.
- Prepare planning applications for schemes and manage them through the end-to-end planning process.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to inform and advise on technical matters using expert planning knowledge.
- Conduct research and analyses to identify trends and issues affecting project progression.
- Perform site surveys and feasibility studies for new telecoms infrastructure.
- Work with local government officials, developers, and community stakeholders to meet regulatory requirements.
- Analyse network performance data and identify areas for improvement.
- Prepare and present detailed planning reports and documentation.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and company policies.
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively.
- Provide technical support and guidance to junior planners and team members.
- Analyse market data and present findings to clients.
- Prepare planning applications and advise clients on construction regulations and legal matters.
