Roles and Responsibilities
As a key player in our electrical and fire detection department, you'll be tasked to design fire alarm and gas suppression systems for Commercial, Industrial and Special Risk environments. All these must meet the correct codes of practice and fulfil the client requirements. The duties would involve:
- Reading project specific consultant specification.
- Reading and reviewing project specific drawings, documents, and proposals.
- Applying fire alarm and gas suppression knowledge to design systems.
- The production of 3D models and ongoing co-ordination with the client and other trades during the development of the contract design.
- Being in contact with suppliers to ensure you are up to date with the latest market developments and products.
- Maybe required to travel abroad for client meetings.
- Liaising with clients.
- Attending online and in person meetings.
- Dialogue with project and sales teams.
- Internal handover meetings upon project award.
Essential Skills
- Understanding of Fire Alarm and Gas Suppression related standards BS, BS, BS, BSEN etc.
- The Use of AutoCAD, Revit and Navisworks for 2D and 3D design work.
- Qualifications in Industry Standard and Products would be an advantage.
- Previous experience in the fire alarm industry.
- Understanding of the commercial implications of what you are designing.
- A can-do hands-on attitude.
- Excellent customer service skills, with a friendly approach.
- Excellent verbal communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and work as a team.
