Role: Authorised Engineer (AE)

Our client Astra Zeneca has raised a new opportunity for a proactive and experienced Authorised Engineer / Technical professional to join the team of a well-established pharmaceutical giant.

The Authorised Engineer is responsible for the implementation, monitoring, and audit of Safe Systems of Work, with a primary focus on Working at Height.

The role includes conducting technical inspections of assets, producing condition reports, and carrying out delegated responsibilities that contribute to the performance and governance of the Authorising Engineer (AE) Services function within Technical Services.

  • Role Responsibilities
  • Interview, assess, and where appropriate, appoint Authorised Persons (APs) in disciplines aligned to the post holder's area of specialism.
  • Conduct audits of Safe Systems of Work relevant to the post holder's technical specialism.
  • Provide technical guidance, professional advice, and ongoing support to Authorised Persons.
  • Undertake technical inspections and condition assessments of assets as required.
  • Assist in incident investigations within the post holder's discipline.
  • Provide technical expertise and support to contract teams operating within the relevant specialism.
  • What we are looking for
  • Experience in Risk assessments, site inspections, and audits.
  • Experience in applying relevant standards and codes of practice to develop solutions, advise operations, and recommend policy improvements.
  • Previous experience as an Authorising Engineer.
  • Knowledge of Governance, Oversight, Change Management, and Asset life expectancy.
  • Experience with statutory compliance on site.
