We're looking for a Mobile Caretaker who will deliver excellent service standards, while meeting SLA agreements.
Contract: Permanent; Hours: 40 hours per week (Monday to Friday – 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM / 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM) & some weekend cover may also be needed. Pay: £13.31 per hour. Location: Cantell School, 73 Violet Road, Southampton, Hampshire, England, SO16 3GJ. Note: The shifts are subject to change. The role may require someone who is flexible to cover when needed. The role comes with an electric van and mobile phone.
Role Responsibilities:
- Undertake all required training and follow Mitie's Quality, Safety, Health and Environmental policies.
- Cover site team members when on leave and help teams when needed.
- Maintain equipment in clean, safe working order and understand all cleaning materials and chemicals used.
- Ensure proper maintenance, cleaning, security, and safety of school premises and grounds.
- Respond to helpdesk jobs, unlock/lock buildings, and carry out porterage and room setups.
- Perform PPM tasks including fire alarm tests, emergency light checks, and support out-of-hours building use.

- Previous caretaking experience (preferred but not essential).

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Open, honest, self‑driven, and determined.
- Commitment to safeguarding and confidentiality, with willingness to undergo an enhanced DBS check.
