HOURS: Mon – Thurs, 7.30AM to 5.00PM. 38.5 hours per week
LOCATION: Taunton, Bridgwater, Highbridge.

We are looking for an NSR Technical Manager who is responsible for the technical oversight of the asbestos operations of the NRS contract, ensuring all asbestos‑related work (including testing, inspection and consultancy) is carried out in accordance with the company's UKAS accredited procedures.
Role Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the technical oversight of the asbestos operations of the NRS contract.
- Ensure all asbestos‑related work (including testing, inspection and consultancy) is carried out in accordance with the company's UKAS accredited procedures.
- Lead the maintenance of current knowledge across all standards, reference texts, guidance documents and information sources (including, but not limited to, HSE, BOHS, UKAS, ATAC and other trade bodies), ensuring all relevant parties are briefed on changes impacting systems, accreditations and resources.
- Line manage the Technical Team to ensure all technical, quality and compliance activities are carried out in accordance with documented system requirements and instructions from Senior Management.
- Responsible for ensuring that all asbestos‑related activities are undertaken in accordance with their arrangements and all relevant legislation and asbestos guidance.
- Responsible for ensuring that the Client remains compliant with the relevant Nuclear Restoration Service (NRS) standards.
- Act as the primary technical reference for the asbestos operations of the company and provide technical advice and expertise where required to all NRS Power Stations.
Required Qualifications:
- Applicants must meet the below defined requirements for the role.
- W504, CCP or Proficiency certificates P402, P403, P404 and P405.
- IOSH Managing Safely.
- ILM Level 3 or demonstrable experience at a senior level within an organisation.
- At least 5 years' experience in an accredited asbestos‑specific work environment with demonstrable extensive working knowledge in all technical disciplines detailed in the Job Role Brief section.
- Experience in undertaking the defined role of Technical / Site Manager in a UKAS accredited organisation.
- Experience in production, modification, update and maintenance of Quality and Technical systems.
- Experience in auditing, including both technical and system audits.
