Mitie is looking for a Small Works Manager to join their team in DM Glen Douglas on the Future Defence Infrastructure Service (FDIS) contract. This role involves coordinating and managing minor new works, planned preventative maintenance, reactive and remedial works, supply chain management along with compliance. Although Based in Glen Douglas, There will be a need to travel to our main Site DM Beith.
The successful candidate will manage, organize, and prioritize work schedules to ensure contracted deliverables and key performance indicators are consistently achieved, with a focus on airfield pavements and buildings across our sites. In addition, the successful candidate will, with suitable qualification, training and experience become the Asbestos Responsible Person. The position requires on site working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
The individual will be required to review risk assessments and method statements for high-risk activities, planned response and minor new works, including administration and review of reports and certification upon completion of works.
The candidate should be aware of commercial requirements on the contract, update and respond to audits, and develop a good understanding of core applications like MAXIMO and Coupa, as well as the facilities management services provided to customers.
Flexible to keep up to date with contract changes, resolve customer issues, and be aware of the business continuity plan. The role also involves attending training and meetings, ensuring supply chain contractors observe JSP 375 requirements, and working closely with the Mobile Authorised Persons team to ensure compliance. The supervisor will support the Helpdesk in responding to requests for professional and technical advice and maintain close working relationships with the Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO) and end users.
Experience and qualification as an Asbestos Responsible Person is highly desirable, but training can be provided. Must be willing to undertake periods of training (Asbestos, airfield pavements) that may be away from the site.
Training and qualifications required include NVQ level qualification in a relevant trade, building, Civil Engineering or a related discipline, or significant relevant experience. A management level qualification in Health & Safety and Environment (e.g., SMSTS). The role offers an attractive benefits package, including entitlement to a company electric vehicle (EV)
