Main Duties
In the role of Porter/Handyman based in Sheffield, you will support the delivery of operations across a Home Office site, working shifts between 07:00 and 19:00. Your duties will include the delivery, physical setup, and takedown of furniture and equipment for meetings and events, along with adjusting meeting rooms and furniture layouts to meet user requirements. You will carry out duties allocated through the helpdesk in a timely manner and assist in keeping the site clean and tidy, ensuring the exterior of buildings and pathways remain clean, clear, and well maintained. Responsibilities also include receiving and distributing heavy or large deliveries, completing basic maintenance tasks such as minor repairs, minor plumbing, painting, and decorating, and observing local security measures in accordance with client policies. You will be expected to work flexibly with regard to work patterns, systems, and locations to maintain required client standards. Additional tasks include completing Safety Walks, reporting any concerns to the Facilities Manager, and proactively identifying areas for improvement. You will also be required to adhere to any reasonable management requests from your line manager or client contact.
Please note that the role requires you to be a British National or naturalised UK citizen, with no previous convictions, and you must be willing to undertake an intrusive clearance process.
