  • Manage security incidents at Operational (Bronze) or Tactical (Silver) levels.
  • Ensure KPIs and service delivery meet BBC expectations and standards.
  • Maintain and update all regional security procedures, ensuring they reflect current best practice.
  • Manage shift patterns, leave requests, and absence for all staff under your remit.
  • Conduct performance development reviews and regular team meetings.
  • Lead recruitment, onboarding, and retention of security staff.
  • Support contingency and emergency planning, ensuring preparedness across all operational sites.
  • Develop and embed new systems, policies, and training initiatives on behalf of BBC Security.
  • Liaise closely with partner teams and stakeholders to resolve issues and enhance service delivery.
  • Analyse incident and performance reports, providing accurate and timely updates to senior management.
  • Proactively identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Maintain accurate records of incidents, hazards, and site restrictions.
  • Ensure all sites have up-to-date safety documentation, inductions, and operational safety plans.
  • Promote and enforce compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental standards.
  • Carry out additional duties as directed by the BBC Security Senior Leadership Team.

Essential Criteria

  • Proven experience managing a team, ideally within a security, policing, or military environment.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • SIA Door Supervisor licence (essential).
  • Flexible and adaptable, willing to work non-routine hours and travel extensively between sites.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a dispersed management team.
  • Committed to continuous professional development.

  • Experience in delivering training or operational briefings.
  • Proven ability to develop and embed new procedures or systems.
  • Demonstrates drive, enthusiasm, and self-motivation.
  • Contributes positively to team culture and operational excellence.

Additional Information

The role will require regular travel between all listed BBC England sites, with occasional national travel to other BBC locations.
