Protect customers’ property, people and assets by providing security services in strict accordance with the Assignment Instructions (AI) and any subsequent changes. Deliver results that meet or exceed the Key Performance Indicators/Service Level Agreement for the customer, ensuring retention of the contract. Undertake additional training to ensure continuous self‑development.

Main Duties

  • Relief officer covering Preston and Manchester locations; required to work days, nights and weekends.
  • Pay rate will be £12.71 per hour.
  • Maintain compliance with all relevant policies, UK law and regulatory requirements as directed by the Security Account Manager.
  • Fully complete all tasks and duties on site as defined within the AI.
  • Proactively review the AI, suggesting amendments that improve service delivery.
  • Carry a front‑line licence (Security Guarding or Door Supervision) at all times. Renew licence 16 weeks before expiry.
  • Follow instructions and procedures appropriately, avoiding unnecessary challenges to authority.
  • Work systematically, methodically and orderly.
  • Use technology to achieve key work objectives and develop professional expertise.
  • Maintain accurate incident and notebook entries promptly for the Incident Report process.
  • Adhere to schedules, demonstrating commitment to the company and client.
  • Ensure check calls are carried out at the allotted time slot as stipulated in the AI.
  • Call emergency services and the Communication Centre to report all incidents.

Training

  • Fully complete all required competency training.
  • Undergo additional training as directed by the Security Account Manager.
  • Use technology to support job knowledge and continuous professional development.

Security and Health & Safety

  • Immediately report any health and safety hazards or potential hazards on site.
  • Stay alert to threats or changes within the environment to reduce disruption, loss or damage.
  • Use common sense and initiative to involve others if a situation becomes threatening.
  • Maintain professional conduct in difficult situations and with challenging customers.
  • Keep to schedules and demonstrate commitment to the company and client.

  • Previous security experience.
  • Valid SIA licence.
  • SC clearance desirable.
