Store Protection Officer – Waitrose – Christchurch. Pay rate £14.05 per hour, unpaid breaks, and guaranteed hours per week at a permanent location.
Job Overview
Retail Security Officer role to protect the Waitrose store, its people and/or assets by providing security and excellent customer service through Mitie and Waitrose key values. £14.05 per hour pay rate alongside numerous Mitie benefits including Save As You Earn, Share Incentive Plan, Cycle to Work, Life Assurance and Childcare Vouchers. Fantastic opportunity to join the evolving Waitrose and Mitie family. Full and extensive training will be provided including MAYBO and key focus on customer service. Company funded SIA licence renewal. Fully supported by the NOC and provided with technology such as body worn camera and incident reporting device. Delivering results that meet and/or exceed the expectations of Mitie and Waitrose by using all technology provided and following ASCONE guidance.

Main Duties Operations
- Be aware of and ensure compliance with all aspects of policies and relevant legal and regulatory requirements as directed by the Security Account Manager and in accordance with UK Law and Guidance bodies.
- Fully engage with the National Operations Centre (NOC) and Mitie management and use all technology provided, including body cams and mobile devices, to aid in the reporting of all incidents.
- Fully and satisfactorily complete all tasks and duties on site as defined within the published Assignment Instructions (AI’s).
- Proactively review the published Assignment Instructions and suggest amendments that improve or enhance the current level of service.
- Maintain compliance with Industry and Statutory Legislation, wearing a front‑line licence in either Security Guarding or Door Supervision at all times.
- Work in a systematic, methodical, and orderly way.
Training
- Fully and satisfactorily complete all required competency training.
- Undertake training to ensure continuous self‑development as directed by the Security Account Manager.
- Use technology to achieve key work objectives and develop job knowledge and expertise through continual professional development.
- Renew your licence at least 16 weeks before expiry.
Security and Health & Safety
- Look out for and immediately report any Health & Safety hazards or potential hazards on site.
- Stay alert to any threats or changes within the work environment and take appropriate action to reduce the chance of disruption, loss or damage.
- Use common sense and initiative by involving others if a situation appears threatening.
- Maintain professional conduct in the face of difficult situations and challenging customers.
- Complete an accurate, detailed notebook entry as soon as possible after any incident to be used as part of the Incident Report process.
- Keep to schedules and demonstrate commitment to Mitie and the Client.
- Ensure check calls are carried out at the allocated time slot as stipulated in the Assignment Instructions (AI’s).
- Call emergency services and the Communication Centre to report all incidents.
